Rockford Coronado Concert Association
Rockford Dance Company, a not for profit organization, enhances our community and promotes the art of dance by supporting a company of dancers from the community, providing accessible dance education for children and adults, working in cooperation with other arts organizations.
Friends of the Coronado was established in 1997, after the historic Coronado Theatre was gifted to the City of Rockford by the Kerasotes Corporation. The Friends launched an $18.5 million fund-raising campaign to expand, restore and renovate the Coronado, built in 1927. With the generous help of the City of Rockford, dozens of area corporations, several regional and national foundations, thousands of individual donors and hundreds of volunteers, the dream of creating a world-class venue “for all to use and share” has been realized in the “new” Coronado Theatre. Today, Friends of the Coronado continues its mission
of promoting and preserving the Coronado Theatre. The Friends currently
operates Coronado Corner, a gift shop and information center adjacent to the theatre.
Land of Lincoln Theatre Organ Society The Land of Lincoln Theatre Organ Society is a chapter of the American Theatre Organ Society and a non-profit organization chartered in 1973. The Land of Lincoln Theatre Organ Society owns and maintains the Coronado’s Grande Barton Theatre Organ. LOLTOS members are musicians, music students, historical devotees and senior citizens who enjoy music and want to preserve the beautiful sound of the Grande Barton. In addition, LOLTOS offers tours of the historic
Coronado that include a brief organ concert, silent movie and a comprehensive
walk-through of the theatre.
