Third Eye Blind - Screamer Tour ::

Third Eye Blind - Screamer Tour Date: Friday November 22, 2019
Time: 8:00 PM
Location: Coronado Performing Arts Center

Tickets

Following an October UK run, Third Eye Blind will be touring the US this fall in support of Screamer, their seventh full-length album, out October 18. They will be making a one night stop at the Coronado Performing Arts Center on Friday, November 22 at 8:00PM. Tickets will go on sale Friday, August 23, 10:00AM local time.

Going strong for over two decades, Third Eye Blind has broken their own attendance records with 2019’s Summer Gods tour, with Jimmy Eat World and Ra Ra Riot.  (Third Eye Blind has offset the tour’s carbon footprint by donating a portion of each ticket sold to a US-based carbon offset project managed by ClimeCo.)

The follow up to 2018’s EP Thanks for Everything, Screamer finds Third Eye Blind collaborating with Alexis Krauss of Sleigh Bells (“Screamer”), Ryan Olson of Marijuana Death Squad and Poliça (“Who Am I” and “Got So High”), and the album’s musical consigliere, Billy Corgan.

“We have always been so insular,” says Jenkins, “and on Screamer we adopted an open door policy -- come in, be musical, and follow the song where it takes us.”

“It’s an incredible feeling to be in a good rock band,” adds Jenkins.  “The gift that’s been given to me is that people view my music as enlivening them.”

Screamer will be available everywhere on October 18, and October 11 on the ‘Ten Bands One Cause’ Pink Vinyl Campaign Benefitting Gilda’s Club NYC.

Lewis Black - It Gets Better Every Day ::

Lewis Black - It Gets Better Every Day Date: Thursday January 30, 2020
Time: 8:00 PM
Location: Coronado Performing Arts Center

Tickets

LEWIS BLACK, GRAMMY Award-winning, stand-up comedian announces 2020 tour, ‘It Gets Better Every Day.’ “When I say, ‘It gets better every day,’ you might be wondering, ‘is he being facetious?’ Come to the show and find out.  Or stay home and wallow in your sadness.”

Black is one of the most prolific and popular performers working today. He executes a brilliant trifecta as a stand-up comedian, actor, and author. Receiving critical acclaim, he performs more than 200 nights annually, to sold-out audiences throughout Europe, New Zealand, Canada, and the United States. He is one of a few performers to sell out multiple renowned theaters, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Brooks Atkinson Theatre, New York City Center, the Main Stage at the Mirage in Las Vegas and a sold-out Broadway run at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City.

His live performances provide a cathartic release of anger and disillusionment for his audience. He is a passionate performer who is a more pissed-off optimist than a mean-spirited curmudgeon. Lewis is the rare comic who can cause an audience to laugh themselves into incontinence while making compelling points about the absurdity of our world.

Since 2014 Lewis Black has done over 400 live streaming shows, called THE RANT IS DUE, at the end of each of his standup performances. Adding his own unique style, Lewis delivers audience-written Rants which have been submitted from the fans at his show and throughout the world.  With so much to get off their chests, people use Lewis’ platform to Rant about what’s on their minds. For a view of the latest shows, and the submission form, click here.

LEWIS BLACK continues as the longest-running contributor to THE DAILY SHOW on Comedy Central. He has had comedy specials on HBO, Comedy Central, Showtime and Epix. In 2001, he won Best Male Stand-Up at the American Comedy Awards. He has released eight comedy albums, including the 2007 GRAMMY Award-winning The Carnegie Hall Performance. He won his second GRAMMY Award for his album Stark Raving Black and has published three bestselling books: Nothing’s Sacred (Simon & Schuster, 2005), Me of Little Faith (Riverhead Books, 2008) and I’m Dreaming of a Black Christmas (Riverhead Books, 2010). In 2012, he performed eight sell-out shows at Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway as well as did one of his two HBO Specials BLACK ON BROADWAY. In 2015, Black notably voiced the character “Anger” in the Academy Award-winning film from Pixar, Inside Out.

John Moreland : OnStage Series ::

John Moreland : OnStage Series Date: Friday January 31, 2020
Time: 8:00 PM
Location: Coronado Performing Arts Center

Tickets

The Coronado Americana Music Series is a unique limited ticket series allowing you to be on stage with the artists and enjoy the Coronado from a different perspective. We invite all guests to the Coronado PAC stage for an intimate night of music and good company. All seating is general admission.

Over the last half a dozen years or so, John Moreland’s honesty has stunned us––and stung. As he put hurts we didn’t even realize we had or shared into his songs, we sang along. And we felt better. But there has always been far more to Moreland than sad songs. Today, his earthbound poetry remains potent, but in addition to his world-weary candor, Moreland’s music smolders with gentle wisdom, flashes of wit and joy, and compassion. And once again, as we listen, we feel better.

“I can’t dress myself up and be some folk singer character that I’m not really,” Moreland says. “I figured, I can’t dress up these songs and try to sell them that way. All I can do is be me.”

Out February 2020, his latest album LP5 proves John Moreland has gotten really good at being John Moreland––thank God. A masterful display of songwriting by one of today’s best young practitioners of the art form, LP5 is Moreland’s finest record to date. The album’s experimentations with instrumentation and sounds capture an artist whose confidence has grown, all without abandoning the hardy roots rock bed and the lyrics-first approach Moreland’s work demands. “I feel like just this year, in the past few months, I’ve reached a point where I feel like I know what I’m doing here now,” he says. “And I feel comfortable with it.”

For two seasons Lopez hosted Lopez Tonight, a late-night television talk show on TBS. This represented Lopez's return to series television after co-creating, writing, producing, and starring in Warner Bros. Television's groundbreaking hit sitcom George Lopez, which ran for six seasons on ABC. Lopez also performed as part of HBO and TBS's Comic Relief 2006. His acclaimed comedy concert, Why You Crying?, debuted on Showtime in 2004. He released his third standup CD, El Mas Chingon, in 2006, which also earned Lopez a GRAMMY nomination in the category of Best Comedy Album. In 2004, he was nominated for a GRAMMY in the same category for his CD Team Leader.

In May 2004, Lopez’s autobiography, Why You Crying?, entered The New York Times Bestsellers List top 20. The book was co-written by Emmy winning writer and sportscaster Armen Keteyian. Lopez released his second memoir, I’m Not Gonna Lie And Other Lies You Tell When You Turn 50, in 2013 where he tells the unabashed and hilarious truth about aging – as only he can.
